The conference will be devoted to physics requirements, survey of technologies and performance of detectors employed (or to be employed) in fundamental and particle physics experiments at accelerators, underground laboratories, submarine facilities, and in space for astroparticle physics experiments and astrophysics research, special applications like medical imaging, radiotherapy, software (GEANT4) for dose estimate in radiotherapy, radiation effects on devices, synchrotron radiation and new advanced detectors.
Presentations include the following subjects: experimentation at colliding beam machines, non accelerator facilities and space facilities, advanced detectors, calorimetry, tracking devices, particle identification, data transmission, data acquistion, semiconductors, medical applications, radiotherapy, radiation damage effects, software and simulation developments, GEANT4 applications.
The conference is aimed to promote contacts among scientists involved in particle and fundamental physics, experimental physicists in other fields and representatives from industry.
Representatives from industries are welcome to present their products and to discuss present and future technologies and developments. Meeting rooms and space for the display of products will be available at the conference Center. Space for poster display is also available on request. Phone lines and telefax will be there at disposal during the conference. Wireless access to the network will be provided.
